What does the AI photo review look at?
With automatic scanning enabled, Armatrade sends card-only front and back photos to OpenAI to help identify the card and review visible corners, edges, surface and centering. The review can also highlight visible counterfeit warning signs and uncertainty.
Suggested identity and condition details stay editable. Confirm the set, card number, variant and language against your physical card before saving them. If a photograph is unclear, take another rather than treating an uncertain result as confirmed.
How to take useful card photos
Use a plain background and soft, even light. Keep personal documents, faces and other identifying information out of the image.
- Photograph the front and back with the whole card visible.
- Keep the camera directly above the card and check that text and edges are in focus.
- Avoid glare, filters and shadows that hide the surface.
- Add a clearer photo if a sleeve, reflection or crop conceals a detail.
Is this professional card grading?
No. A photo review cannot certify authenticity, assign an official grading-company grade or detect every defect. Surface marks, texture, alterations and damage may be invisible in a photograph.
For a valuable purchase or trade, inspect the physical card and seek an appropriate professional assessment where needed. Treat the review as supporting notes, not a guarantee about the card.
Condition and price are different questions
Armatrade may look for matching Australian-dollar price evidence after a card is identified. An uncertain match may be left without a value. A reference price is not a guaranteed offer, sale price or professional appraisal.
The exact printing, finish, language and condition all matter when comparing evidence. Check the sources and the card details before relying on a price guide.
